Olmsted Plein Air Invitational PaintQuick
On Sunday, April 23, 202 , A Time with Isadora was honored to be a part of the 9th Olmsted Plein Air Invitational. Beauty Through Mattus choreographed by Carolyn Stine McLaughlin was performed by Charlotte Angermeier, Julianna Feracotta and Jodie Jernigan.
The dance was performed as part of the PaintQuick competition which took place beginning at 8:30 am. For two hours, the participating painters made paintings of their chosen spot in the Dellwood section of the Olmsted Linear Parks. Their work was then judged by the competition’s panel of judges. The PaintQuick event was for both the 28 invited artists of the competition and for community artists. More than 100 community artists participated.
Three of the Invitational Artists chose to include the dancers in their paintings; Natalia Andreeva, Lila McAlpin and Vicki Norman. Ms. Andreeva’s Oak Leave Hydrangas received two honors in the competition, Best in Show and Judges’ Award of Merit. Ms. Norman’s Southern Light received a Judges Award of Merit.
During the morning, there was also a visit from James Evans of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Mr. Evans was creating a piece to highlight the people and places of Inman Park. He chose to come an film because Movement Arts Atlanta is base in Inman Park and Ms. McLaughlin is a resident of the neighborhood.
